Tulip Mania the card game is an opportunity to engage in an economics simulation by participating in an auction, speculating about price, and selling for profit (hopefully). This helps students understand what happened in history as well as give them a different perspective about events more recently. History does repeat itself after all. Students will spend time learning the vocabulary words surrounding the lesson and will complete a short vocabulary workbook. Students will read a quick-read history about tulip mania before playing the card game. After the game a summary is included for those who wish to complete one and discussion prompts help drive conversation about the history, the game, and the concepts. Tulip Mania the card game requires students to manage their budgets, watch market trends, participate in auctions, and make important financial decisions in order to end the game with the most money in their coffers! ******************* What’s Included: Game setup and rules Tulip Mania card game Sample lesson plan Vocabulary workbook packet Short read history about tulip mania Common core aligned summary Additional game support documents ******************* This is NOT a low-prep lesson.
