Stantons, Broadway Market, Hackney, 1979 20y-32: shop, closed, derelict, Stantons ice cream shop was clearly closed and derelict, with corrugated iron fixed across its window and door. I can't remember or work out exactly where on Broadway Market it was sited, though I'm sure those who grew up in the area will know. The flats at the right are Welshpool House, in Welshpool St, and this could be the corner of Welshpool St and Broadway Market, or perhaps Benjamin Close and Broadway Market. I think the road layout has changed a little since 1979.

The photos show derelict stations snaking for miles underground - including Aldwych Underground station, now used as a set for productions including Sherlock and V for Vendetta.
