OTTAWA CITIZEN, By Bruce Deachman One way to look at Alain Miguelez’s new book, Transforming Ottawa, is simply to graze through the hundreds of historical photos and marvel at how much this city has changed. The palatial waiting room at Union Station, for example, with its impossibly high ceilings and stately columns, the entrance to its underground passage to the Château Laurier across Wellington Street draped with Union Jacks, is forever lost to Ottawa now, except in such photographic memory.
