Hmong Mother Mary is another installment of my Universal Mother Project, started in 2020. I started this project, because there’s something so legitimate about representation that I always took for granted. Seeing ourselves reflected in our family members is important. That commonality gives us a sense of belonging, of being known and, potentially, better understood. Our Lady appearing as we are is like loo king in the face of our own mothers, and understanding that we do belong. We belong to her and to Our Father. We can know we have found our place of belonging. This artwork comes to you on your choice of museum quality archival cotton paper. Your paper options are Archival Matte: a smooth, fine-textured heavier paper; or Studio Watercolor: a heavier paper with a more pronounced texture - like regular watercolor paper. The image bleeds right to the edge of your print, so there isn't a border. When cropping to different sizes, the amounts of negative space are slightly varied. The artwork will be printed, bagged, packaged, and shipped directly to you from a third party printer. They do an amazing job to ensure that your print arrives undamaged. Because my artwork is printed on demand, please allow 10-12 days for the process to run its course. I will send you an email with tracking information when I'm notified that your order has been shipped. **A word to Canadian Friends: the flat rate of $20 to ship will be tacked on at checkout. Once I submit your order to the printer I’ll refund you any overages. Please allow 2 weeks for delivery. I’m new to international shipping, so your patience is appreciated. All profits will be given to organizations working toward a just and equitable society. If you have any questions, please feel free to message me. Have a blessed day!
