The English artist Sir Herbert Alker Tripp CBE (Alker Tripp; 1883-1954) was a police officer who was appointed an Assistant Commissioner of the London Metropolitan Police (1932-1947); his paintings were exhibited at the Royal Academy and many were used for posters.
