Unknown photographer The hermit's dwelling on the Columns of Jupiter has gone, but the Frankish Tower seems still to be standing (although barely visible) -- giving a date range of 1870-1874. The cottage in the right foreground is visible in an older similar photo, estimated at 1865 (owing to the hermit's dwelling visible on that photo). The date of removal of the cottage is not known, but is associated with the planting of the gardens of Zappeion around it. Scanned from private collection of MBE.
