Hello everyone! This is Cassandra from CREATING with COLOR by CASSANDRA. I am so super excited to be with you all week long as a Guest Designer. Thank you so much to Joy for such a wonderful opportunity. Since next week is Thanksgiving, I thought I would show you a variety of projects this week that will hopefully inspire you and get your creative juices flowing for the upcoming holidays. For today's project, how about a super cute centerpiece for your Thanksgiving dinner table? I have to admit, this might be one of my most favorite projects I have ever made! I got the inspiration for him a couple of months ago when I went to my very first Archiver's store while visiting Atlanta. They had a classic looking turkey made with full rosettes that was on display. And the minute I saw it, I knew I had to make my own version of one. I absolutely love how he turned out!!! Here is more of a side view so you can see the dimension. My super cute little turkey (the body) is cut with the Create A Critter ~ Cricut Cartridge. And all of his beautiful "feathers" are cut with the Ribbons & Rosettes ~ Cricut Cartridge. Now, most of the time when you make a rosette you make a full circle. Instead, for this project I only wanted to make a half circle rosette. So, to get them to stay firm and upright, I used some good quality cardstock for the rosettes. All of those papers are from the Simple Stories ~ Harvest Lane Collection. Then, on the bottom of each rosette - I adhered a long, flat wooden craft stick - cut to length for each layer. And I used a hot glue gun to attach them all to that little wooden base. To add his sweet little face, I used the Peachy Keen Stamps ~ Critter Faces stamp set. I colored in his eyes with a white ~ Sakura Gelly Roll Pen, his beak and little jigglie thingy with yellow and red ~ Zig Writer Pens, and a little chalk for his cheeks. The patterned paper for his body is from the My Mind's Eye ~ Lost and Found Halloween Collection. The brown and yellow cardstock are from Bazzill. I hand cut the little label. The paper for the label is from the Simple Stories ~ Harvest Lane Collection. And the "Happy Thanksgiving" sentiment is from the My Creative Time ~ Piles of Smiles stamp set. I hope you enjoy him as much as I enjoyed making him! He was super simple to make and put together. Give it a shot. Your holiday guests will love him!!! **********GIVEAWAY********** Ok everyone, how about a giveaway? Or how about two giveaways?!?
