This Lego fire department excavator performs a variety of tasks include pulling down severely damaged structures, clearing mudslides, and assisting with debris removal in wildfires. It often responds with the Urban Search and Rescue team. The excavator arm and bucket has full articulation. Lego's hydraulic cylinders are paired with Lego tubing to provide the necessary grip on the connections. I also made use of Lego's new firefighter collectible minifig to proving arm striping and wrap-around leg striping to the minifigures' turnout gear. Tread design inspired by Flickr user Sheo. Inspired by the real-life excavators used by the Los Angeles City and County Fire Departments. You can see a video here twitter.com/LACoFDPIO/status/1188551933436448768
