For those of you that have been following my photostream for a while probably know that this is one of my favorite bridges. I decided to stop by early because I was going to try to get some sunset pictures from the Pasco side but unfortunately I got off work late and didn't make it. So I decided to go to the Kennewick side and take some from another vantage point trying out some different techniques. To my dismay the lights hadn't turned on at this point. A lady was walking by with her dogs and said that they are still not on a very good schedule since it has been getting dark earlier. I waited for almost 2 hours but eventually gave up. Not before experimenting with a couple of different techniques that I hadn't planned. This was a 149 second exposure and I was pretty happy with how it turned out. I really liked the tones that were illuminating from the other side of the river as well as the slight cast of the bridge that is present even without the cables being lit. This was only possible because it was so calm tonight. I think that this solves the mystery of whether or not there is a shadow even when the subject is not illuminated. haha.
