Not pictured is the sheer amount of repetition that is building - we made, moved, shaped and plastered around 110,000 lbs of mud and many tons of rock and timber. Simon says cob is “like going to the gym, but you get a house at the end.” It makes me realize how many of our modern practices are just recreating what a natural lifestyle provides everyday. It was hard work but we come out the other side stronger, smarter, prouder, humbler. More connected to ourselves, each other, our natural resources, our shelters.
