I live in a rural town in northern Wisconsin, so there’s no shortage of abandoned farmhouses and barns. A few years ago, I came across an exquisite abandoned home on the side of a country road. I continued driving down the road until I found a place to turn around. I slowly pulled up the driveway. My heart was racing. The driveway wrapped around, so I knew I could easily hide my car on the side of the house. The dwelling had no doors or windows remaining, so I knew I could easily access the inside. I grabbed my camera gear and headed into the main floor of the house. I only spent a few minutes in the house because I was afraid I would get caught. I guess that’s part of the thrill for me.

Houses, like people and pets, have souls. These abandoned old houses have stories to tell. I wish more people cared about saving these treasures.

Abandoned buildings are some of my favourite things in the world, what an aesthetic ✨

Years before, during the Soviet Rule, books were considered to be the greatest treasure. Children in schools were taught to treat the books with care and love. It seems now this doesn’t work. At least at some libraries. englishrussia.com/?p=1849
This old "Public School" is located along Rainbow Drive in the Lincoln County countryside southeast of Merrill, Wisconsin. It's abandoned, but not forgotten judging by the newer furnace in the basement and the new roof. Thanks to my buddy diapaulic for the directions. See Paul's version here. Thanks to Lenabem-Anna for the texture. A cool way to view mine or anyone else's photostream is on fluidr.
