Sharing Time Instruction: Before primary place the cut up word strips to D&C 1:38 on the board in random order. Invite a couple primary children to come up and try to put the scripture in order. Maybe choose children who have their scriptures with them, that they can look up the scripture and put it into order. When the scripture is in order, invite the primary to read it with you. Ask the children if they can tell you who the prophet of the church is? Show them a picture of President Monson. Invite the children to read the last part of the scripture again, "...whether by mine own voice or by the voice of my servants, it is the same." Explain to the children that the past Saturday and Sunday they were able to listen to some of these "Servants". Give each of the primary children the printable above, "Following the Prophet will Help us come unto Christ". Hold up the week theme poster and invite the children to repeat with you, "Following the prophet will help us come unto Christ." Show the children a picture of the Savior, ask the children if they know who is in the picture? Explain that in primary they are going to be learning and discussing how following the teachings of Heavenly Father's servants (prophets and leaders of the church) can help them love the Savior more and become more like Him. Pick some talks from General Conference which you feel your primary can relate to. Share a condensed version or a story from each talk. Invite the primary children to write or draw pictures on their papers about how these talks or others that they enjoyed while listening to conference, can help their love for the Savior grow or how it can help them become more like Him. Collect pencils and crayons. You may like to have the music leader invite the children to sing "Follow the Prophet" as you are collecting things. Close by sharing your testimony on the topic.
