The appraisal will be performed by a third party, independent jewellery appraisal laboratory and conducted by a trained appraiser. Appraisals are sometimes necessary for insuring your jewellery. Appraisals are delivered in the form of a hard copy document presented in a dossier. The appraisal will include information such as:  Description of the piece Details of any stones included (including certification numbers, if applicable) Total gemstone weight Total weight of the piece Price of gold and/or platinum at the time of appraisal Photo of the piece Photo of the laser-engraved certification number, if applicable An estimated replacement value (in CAD if you are Canadian, USD if otherwise) The authenticity seal of the appraiser Most appraisals take 3-4 weeks.
