Eating at The Seafood Restaurant was one of the eagerly awaited meals of our Foodie holiday to Cornwall. The restaurant itself has a great harbour front location, and was a lot bigger than we were expecting. There was a great atmosphere in the evening, and the restaurant was light and airy. An oyster bar in the middle of the restaurant also a lovely feature. Service was very friendly, but overall was a bit slow and it felt like there was no particular waiter/waitress assigned to particular tables which may have contributed to this. We started with Crisp Smoked Mackerel with Green Mango and Green Papaya Salad, with Thai holy basil, sliced shallots, carrot, peanuts and birds eye chilli and a Salad of Lobster, Avocado, Green Beans and Foie-Gras. I could have ordered most of the starters on the menu they all sounded fantastic, and it was a tough choice but my love for the Asian influence won out! The mackerel dish was really delicious – tangy, a great combination of hot sweet sour and salt and the fish cooked to perfection.
