These are the works of artist Kate MacDowell, whose art draws from how humans appreciate the beauty of nature, but treat the environment badly. In a statement on her web site, she says: "In some pieces aspects of the human figure stand-in for ourselves and act out sometimes harrowing, sometimes humorous transformations which illustrate our current relationship with the natural world."
