This is a vintage suitcase with an alligator patterned paper case. It is from the 1930's - 1950's. But you are not just buying a piece of luggage, you are buying someones story as told through the luggage. It tells the story of Willy DeVriendt who took the Southern Railway to Southampton England. He booked a first class passage on Cunard Line (Cunard White Star) aboard the Queen Mary. (The Queen Mary's last voyage was when she went from South Hampton to California in 1967 where she remains as a tourist destination to this day.) He set off on May 19 (we don't know exact year) and went to New York City . North American Van Lines helped him along his journey. And the last we know of the trip was a ride provided by Carey Transportation, a provider of luxury transportation. The suitcase is in vintage condition and has a hole through the case in the lower right back. See photo of the interior of the suitcase. size: 30" x 17" x 8'
