A very pretty cup and saucer by Spode Group, Hammersley. This dainty teacup and saucer features a Bird of Paradise in flight against a background of exotic plants and flowers on a pure white ground. There are areas of raised detail at the cup rim and below the handle, as well as around the circumference of the saucer. The gilt trim to the rim and handle of the cup, and to the rim of the saucer, is in pristine condition. Both cup and saucer are perfect and apparently unused.
