Made by upcycling a genuine antique postage stamp, this keyring encapsulates a genuine fragment of postal history - a great gift for any stamp collector, letter writer, or nostalgic traveller... Please read on for full details: FEATURE STAMP • A new keyring will be hand-pressed just for you, using a stamp of same illustration as shown in pics 1-4 • A real used vintage stamp is captured in the keyring casing, issued in the French territory of Reunion (an island in the Indian Ocean) circa 1943 • The photogravure design features a line drawing illustration in still life-style depicting 'local produce', all in soft neutrals with sepia-brown detailing KEYRING DETAILS • My original keyring frame has been replaced by a slightly different style - see pic 2 for details (this style will be used for all new keyring pressings) • The keyring 'frame' measures approx. 2.9 x 4.2cm. The full length including split ring measures approx. 8cm (3.15" approx.) • The stamp is trimmed to size by hand then pressed into the keyring casing. It is an entirely handmade process! • The frame is made of a sturdy silvertone metal, with a nice weight • The stamp is protected behind a durable, transparent acrylic 'window' • The split ring (35mm diam.) makes it easy for you to add & remove your keys as needed PACKAGING OPTIONS • Each keyring comes with a small card which provides details of the feature stamp's country of origin & date of issue along with basic care instructions • Keyring & card are packaged in a plain cellophane packet as standard • Upgrade to add a tiny tin that can be used for future storage as well as gifting: - Tin is decorated with a print from one of my original postage stamp collages, selected at random (or include a note with your preference). - Made of tinplate metal with hinged lid, and measures just 5 x 8 x 1.6cm (approx. 2" x 3.1" x 0.6") - a very handy size for storing all kinds of small office bits & pieces. • Giving as a gift? I have amassed a huge collection of stamps this way for use in my collage artwork. A lot of the stamps are so striking individually that they truly warrant appreciation on a wider level, so framing these little artworks one by one - with the added bonus of practical functionality! - gives each the chance for a new lease of life. Rescued from old, unwanted albums otherwise destined for landfill. these stamps speak to the soul.
