This is an original and rare hand painted banner dating from around 1918, British. Painted onto a smooth cotton canvas it states ‘VOTE FOR WOMEN’. An amazing piece of British social history and particularly poignant as here in the UK we are about to hold a General Election. This panel would look fabulous hanging on a wall as shown in our photographs, or as part of a museum collection. Condition: In excellent condition with an overall patina of age. We have secured the raw edges and hemmed them by hand and have also mended a couple of small tears, all work is professionally carried out in our antique textile conservation studio.
