Green Feet is an icon of Air Force Rescue, born out of the jungles of Vietnam. Rescue helicopters flying in pairs would often land in rice paddies to be near operations where friendly aircraft might be in distress. When they took off, from the air it would look like two giant footprints were left behind. This led to the nickname Jolly Green Giant for the rescue helicopters. When a pilot was in distress and bailed out of his aircraft, his wingman would make contact on the radio and let him know "Sit tight, Jollies are inbound". Air Force Rescue still uses the Jolly callsign to this day.
