In Matthew chapter 5 verse 14 takes place during the sermon on the mount. Jesus states "You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden." In Verse 15 he goes on to say "Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead, they put it on its stand and it gives light to everyone in the house." I believe this is Jesus telling us to let our light for Him shine brightly so everyone we come in contact with can see Him in us. So that in the dark world we live in, we may shine a light on the path that leads to Jesus so others can find Him.
