Lovely vintage floral print tea dress in super condition. This is a 1980s or early 90s dress that has been well cared for and is now looking for a new home. There is no fabric content label but this feels like mid weight rayon and has a slight stretch to the fabric. The background is slate grey with a stunning roses and chrysanthemum print in dusty pink, deep wine red, moss green, white and yellow. The colour combination is muted and understated - it really is so pretty. The dress has a sweetheart neckline and buttons down the front with nine opaque cream and brown buttons with gold tone chain effect centres. The short puff sleeves are gently gathered at the cuffs and there are shoulder pads which are attached with velcro so could be removed if you prefer. The body of the dress is panelled and semi fitted, flowing out from the hips to a wide hemline that falls below the knee/mid calf depending on height. This is a perfect example of soft 80s styling, reminiscent of the Laura Ashley tea dresses of that era. The slight stretch in the fabric makes this super comfortable to wear and the cut is very flattering indeed. Perfect for garden parties, weddings, visits to tea-shops and stately homes. Don't be surprised when you receive one compliment after another with people asking you where you bought this pretty dress, and the looks of jealousy when you tell them it's vintage and no, they can't buy an identical one in the High Street.
