This is the first study in the Play-Along Adventures Masterwork Collection curriculum series. Come explore the Baroque period and dive into the music of Antonio Vivaldi's beloved violin concerto, "Autumn" from the Four Seasons. Studies focusing on the other movements of Four Seasons are coming soon! * Composer card * Information sheets on Vivaldi and the Baroque era * three complete lesson plans (no prior music experience necessary!) * three color-coded handbell charts * Additional printable materials * Glossary of musical terms * Detailed list of additional optional resources Each lesson focuses on a single movement from "Autumn," and includes links to recordings of the pieces you will be studying, a clear explanation of an important musical concept, journal prompts to encourage thoughtful listening, and a variety of engaging, hands-on activities. The activities are designed to be simple and use common household items. The lessons include three color-coded handbell charts so that your child can play along as they learn. These charts can be adapted for use with BoomWhackers or chimes. Because of the many sharps and flats in these pieces, you will need a 13-note set of handbells. While these lessons are designed for grades k-6, instructions for adapting lessons for both younger or more advanced students are included. Lessons are intended to be used as a six-week course. I wanted an easy-to-use curriculum that introduced children to important musical concepts and ideas, famous composers, and most importantly, fostered a love of listening to and making music. As a piano teacher and homeschool mom, I started out writing this curriculum to use with my own children and piano students. My hope is that you will enjoy using these lessons as much as we have.
