The Nine Locks/Delph Locks in Brierley Hill, West Midlands. This is a black and white painting inspired by an old photograph taken in the early 1950s. It is was painted in acrylics on canvas in monochrome style which has given the scene a nostalgic atmosphere. This flight of locks were completed in 1858 to replace a set of locks built by Thomas Dadford in 1779 but due to mining subsidence the middle ones were replaced in 1856. This painting is available as a good quality digital print on 300gsm archival paper in sizes A3, A4, A5 and A6. They are all signed on the reverse by me. The A3,A4 & A5 prints come with an authenticity certificate. It is advised to frame the print under glass and out of direct sunlight to protect the quality of the print. Print sold unframed.
