This cotton bag was inspired by my shawl design, Road to Nowhere, which uses the same combination of stitches. Road to Nowhere is a pretty bleak name, I wanted this pattern to represent the promise of a better future. Materials: King Cole Cotton dk, 100% cotton, 100g/210m/229yds. Approximately 60grams of French Navy (Yarn A). Approximately 30g of each of the following: Opal (Yarn B), Antique Gold (YC), Magenta (YD). 3.5mm hook 4mm hook Tension: Tension is not important for this project Abbreviations: st(s) stitch(es) sp(s) space(s) blo back loop only ch chain ch-sp chain space dc double crochet (US single crochet) sl st slip stitch tr treble (US double crochet) rep repeat beg beginning Finished size: width: 10.75in / 28cm length: 11.5in / 29.5cm Notes: The pattern is written in UK terms. The bag is made by making the bottom first and then working the two sides from the bottom piece. See below for suggestions about sizing up. Carry YB, YC & YD up the sides. Fasten off each row by putting the whole ball through the loop and pulling to close, this avoids having to cut and sew in ends.
