Are you looking for engaging, ready-to-go Veterans Day activities for your classroom? If so, this high interest, low-prep resource is for you! It includes an educational PowerPoint presentation to share the importance of this holiday with your students and why we honor veterans. They'll learn about the branches of the military and be introduced to 3 real veterans! It also comes with fun pennant coloring pages to decorate your classroom with as well as writing prompts so students can really connect with what they've learned. The content is basic enough for 1st graders to understand, but this could easily be used by 6th graders as well! ❗️This is a DIGITAL download. Once you complete your purchase, you'll download a PDF off of Etsy with a link to download the files off of Dropbox. Nothing physical will be mailed to you. You do NOT need a Dropbox subscription to access the files. Due to file size, they are just housed on Dropbox until you download them to your computer. **This product is for personal use only; it cannot be resold or given away for free in any way. If you plan to share with co-workers please message me to inquire about purchasing additional licenses. Included in this download: • 26 slide PowerPoint covering who veterans are, why we honor them, branches of the military, discussion questions, military facts, and meet 3 real veterans. • Veterans flag pennants: There are 5 different pennants to choose from for your students to color. They'll look amazing as a banner in your hallway, on your door, or in your classroom! • Thank you cards: You can choose from color or black and white. You can choose to fold the pages in half and have students write in the cards that way, or you can cut off the blank side and glue it to a piece of construction paper like I did in the photo example. Also included is a brainstorm page and a practice sentence page so students can make a polished card to send to a veteran! • Veterans Day brainstorm & writing prompts: I find it helpful for students to brainstorm what they have learned in one or two words before transferring their ideas onto their writing prompt. They tend to not get so overwhelmed that way! If you have a higher grade level, they may not need the brainstorm page. Regular lined and primary lined options on all writing papers are included. • Branches of the military graphic: Students can complete this page during the presentation or afterward in a center to learn more about the military. ✨See what teachers are saying about this resource! • "This was a great resource during our Veterans Day unit.
