The original fabric was white cotton, somwhat rough in textuer, with narrow roller printed lilack stripes on a white background and with small single red tulips on a short teamp with one lilac leave spaced an inch apart between the strips. THe fabric dates to the mid 1790's. It suggests the dress was remade froma somwhat earlier style and fabric re-purposed. This is a bib-front dress.
