Beautiful 1940s or earlier white cotton hand embroidered long nightgown. I have a hard time dating these amazing nightgowns, from looking at the buttons and the construction I think this one is from the 40's or earlier. Fabric is a thin cotton with a nice soft hand, slightly transparent. Sweet pointed collar with crochet lace border. Six rows of tiny pin tucks down each side of the bodice. Hand embroidered arabesque flowers on the bodice, white on white. Shadow embroidery! Four mother of pearl buttons up the front. Crochet lace trim around the button placket. Crochet lace border on the sleeve cuffs and one button. Nightgown is cut A line with no darts. French seams inside. No labels, professionally made by a talented seamstress. 100% cotton. Please wash cool, drip dry. Very good vintage condition with no fabric or sewing flaws.
