This sampler is part of the wood-bock print series "Mt. Fuji 36 Views" by Hokusai Katsushika". Katsushika Hokusai (October 31, 1760 - May 10, 1849) was a famous Japanese artist, ukiyo-e painter and printmaker of the Edo period. If you wish to stitch the sampler in one color, one ball of Olympus Sashiko Thin Weight Thread (80m/ball) is recommended. This sampler is also available in white and as a kit. Sashiko samplers are 100% cotton. The design on the samplers are printed with washout stitching lines. There is a plain piece attached to the design half that can be used as a backing or stitch through both layers and add your own backing. The finished size is approximately 13" x 13". A great take along project, no chart or hoop is needed. No English instructions included but sashiko is an easy over-under running stitch. Just stitch right on top of the printed lines. Sew easy - sew much fun. Please let me know if you need basis sashiko sampler instructions included. The samplers do not come with needle or thread.
