Have you ever heard of the German tradition of hanging a pickle on your tree? Well, legend says that a pickle ornament was considered a special decoration in many German households. The tree is always decorated on Christmas Eve with the pickle being the last ornament nestled into the green boughs, hidden among the other ornaments. On Christmas morning the children would come downstairs to find the tree decorated and presents beneath. Whoever found the pickle hidden within the boughs would receive an extra present from St. Nick, likewise, any adult who found it would receive the gift of good luck and prosperity for the upcoming new Year! There is a clear hanger attached to the top for hanging. Although adorable as an ornament, my items are not just for Christmas Trees! Hang them year round from window frames, cupboard doors, decorate a package, sit them on an office shelf or even hang from a rear-view mirror. Use your imagination, the possibilities are endless!
