I'm a Downton Abbey junky. I regularly cue up an episode, watch a few scenes, and then pick up where I left off at my next opportunity. I can tell you that there's an awful lot of luncheoning going on! And Lady Grantham is constantly asking if you will be staying for luncheon. We still use that archaic term, of course. But we're mostly referring to a more formal or special midday event when we do. At any rate, these Limoges plates of an unknown pattern live up to "luncheon." This is the airy tablescape I promised. Held appropriately en plein air! The serving table is ready for the food, and is also set up for dessert with vintage glass dishes. Baby's Breath centers the table. Alyssum from the garden center. Lots of lace is the order of the day. . . . The runner I chose for the smaller table was covered up entirely by the settings, so I used it here on the serving table instead. Romantic Rose Point silver spoons by Wallace. I inherited these from my husband's Mother. . . . And vintage glassware. The rose napkin rings are by Rachel Ashwell. Vintage lace trimmed napkins. A vintage ruffled lace tablecloth is laid over a flocked sheer under layer. The centerpiece is a six-pack of garden plants inside a square transferware tureen. I'm sorry I forgot the name of the plant! But I love the tiny pink bloom, and ferny nature of the leaves for this table. Keeping live plants in pots for awhile lets you enjoy a centerpiece a lot longer. They sun on the patio in-between. I took this photo, and the next, from inside, shooting through the lace curtain. It was fun doing a dressy table like this. You don't even have to be a duchess-- It just makes you feel like one! Thanks so much for stopping by! Happy tablescaping!
