About The Artwork As a result of a study at a specialised breeding farm in Belgium and France, Alexandru Cinean developed a sensitiveness not only towards the beauty of these exotic birds, but also to the experience of his close interaction with them, and to the ecological and ethic aspects concerning the impact of human intervention on the existence and the perpetuation of the parrot species. The artist proves an exquisite accuracy in expressing the anatomical details and the movement of the birds developed on the basis of direct observation, accompanied by laborious drawing exercises and study compositions which captures both the bird and their interaction with other species and with man and allows the study of the chromatic effects of the feathers in different conditions of light. The white background which underlines the elegance of the outlines and emphasizes the chromatic beauty and richness of the feathers and at the same time encourages the viewer’s contemplative concentration. The work is framed with a white customized frame, designed by the artist. It is part of the project Waves of the sublime, which was exhibited at Brukenthal National Museum in 2019.
