Mary Queen of Scots led an unfortunate life - born in Scotland, she became Queen when she was just six days old and her father died. Then she was raised in France to be Queen, and her husband died after a short marriage. She went back to a country she barely knew, with warring factions she didn't understand. And thus, she wound up trying to escape to England, where her Catholic faith led her to become a figurehead for many rebellions. Eventually she was killed on the orders of her cousin Elizabeth, but not after leaving pages and pages of letters from her years in captivity.
