They are lightweight but stand on their own.. with the exception of the letters J, F, P and the #4. But I include double sided sticky pads that allow the letters to stand freely. If wanting to place these outside, I would suggest the use of double sided sticky tabs placed at the base of the letters to prevent them from blowing over.
