Museum of Archaeology and Ethnography, Guatemala City. This vase shows demons of the night - wahy or wahyis - that Classic Maya lords could send upon each other to cause illness, suffering, and death. The text along the rim mentions that the vase is a drinking cup for chocolate that belongs to the Ik'a' lord (Ik'a' is known now as the archaeological site of Motul de San Jose) Yajawte' K'ihnich (mentioned here under his Chak El title). The vase probably ended up in Altar in Sacrificios as a gift from Motul de San Jose rulers.
