Students do not need any music reading experience or strong finger independence to complete this workbook. Even very young, very beginning students can do it! Print the workbook single-sided and put into a 3-ring binder. 2. For each song, students will first imagine the mood of the song they would like to create. 3. They will draw a picture to depict the story. 4. They will give their song a title. 5. On the next page, students will cut out 12 squares. Each square is a picture of the black key they will play for that beat. No note reading required. 6. Students get to decide the order they will play the notes. 7. And now they paste the squares onto the Paste page to create their final song. 8. They get to play their song (using any octave, any finger). 9. The workbook allows students to compose 5 songs, each with a different theme.
