Large Seal on Flippers (originally named as Adult Seal) WHITE - Ceramic raku fired with white crackle glaze & natural smoked clay areas on flippers and nose. GREY - Ceramic raku fired with mottled white crackle glaze & natural smoked clay areas all over, very randomly applied so finish and amount of grey and white areas will vary from piece to piece. Sizes: 20cm L These pictures are general pictures of each item, the crazing will differ with each animal due to the unique nature of Raku. Raku is a rapid firing technique, adapted from an ancient Japanese firing. A small group of approx 15 pieces are placed in a small gas fired kiln and fired up to around 1,000° c, each piece is then individually taken out of the kiln red hot and placed in a bin of sawdust & wood shavings which instantly combust, the actual finish is then down to careful timing, longer in the air will give bigger heavier crazing, covering quickly leaves areas with no crazing but the crazing itself is very random and this gives each piece its own character, all work is then completely covered in the sawdust and left overnight to cool before being cleaned. RAKU IS NOT FROST PROOF SO NOT SUITABLE FOR KEEPING OUTDOORS

Little village in the shape of five attached little ceramic houses made using the Raku process. The Raku makes them unique as I am never sure exactly how they are going to come out. I biscuit fire my work first in an electric kiln, then glaze the walls with a transparent raku glaze and the roofs with a glaze containing some cobalt oxide which gives it a hint of lavender blue. I then fire the piece in the raku kiln till about 1000C, before opening the kiln, the village is then put in a steel box with saw dust, I make sure that it lays on its back in the saw dust to have the crackles on the front. . Since the box is fairly air tight, the combustion of the saw dust draws oxygen from the clay and produces the black colour in the cracks in the glaze, and in any unglazed parts, which is characteristic of Raku. The Raku firing makes each piece unique and I am never sure exactly how they are going to come out.The light blue roof glaze is made with cobalt which gives it a hint of lavender blue. The village can also be used as a cone insence burner, multiple little windows let the air in for the cone to combust and the smoke goes through the chimney, not that it is a tightknit community living in this village with a single heating system for the full 5 houses! The middle house is about 15.5 cm high link to my esty shop: https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/CeramicsNHamill?ref=simple-shop-header-name&listing_id=811222584 link to other little insence burner houses https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/603482256/raku-ceramic-house-cone-incense-burners?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=nathalie+hamill&ref=sr_gallery-1-16&organic_search_click=1

Pink and red sweetheart design Jug. Large jugs are 20cm tall. Lovely as a jug or vase. They hold around 1.4 litres. All pottery is food safe. I recommend hand wash only. Not suitable for the microwave. My name is Caroline. I run a small ceramic pottery shop from my home in Lancashire. I buy in the plain bisque (unglazed, undecorated pottery) then paint and glaze them in my own design and fire them in my own kiln. Every one of my creations are hand painted and totally original. As they are hand painted no two are exactly the same. Thank you for visiting my shop and I hope you love my pots as much I love making them. If you buy one and love it please leave me a positive review. Thank you.
Each of these porcelain buttons is a tiny one of a kind abstract painting but the painting is glaze and was fired permanently into the porcelain and will never scratch off or be damaged. Each is unique and you may select the button from the available buttons (see last photo which shows each button that can be selected from the drop-down menu). They would look lovely set against a variety of colours and would work well on a sweater or coat or special sewing project. They feel very smooth to the touch on the front and back of the button and will not snag on yarn or fabric. These buttons have been fired in my kiln to stoneware hardness and they are not affected by detergent or water. Size: - these buttons are approx. 1 " in diameter.

See more work by Stephanie Beasley About Stephanie Beasley After graduating from The University of Central Lancashire, with a BA (honours) degree in 3D Design in 1993, I returned to my home town of Kettering, Northamptonshire, and set up my pottery studio in 1995. My main inspiration comes from nature, and the countryside that surrounds me, but I also find inspiration from everyday activities. All my work is handbuilt using slab building techniques. I use white earthenware clay, which enables me to create a delicate and finely finished piece, which is then glazed in a variety of colours. My pieces are created to be useful and at the same time beautiful to look at. I have been selling my work through galleries and exhibitions for over 15 years, and my work has been featured in several interior design publications.
Nothing says quaint country cottage like a sleeping rabbit shelf sitter! Simply place this cutie on a shelf and feel the warmth of slow, country living. This particular bunny is made using the slip casting method. I source vintage molds, usually from the 60’s and 70’s so that my art has an authentic 70s vibe. I make sure to use whimsical, aesthetically pleasing glazes on my pieces so that it’s like I’m I breathing new life into the 70s. This listing is for the exact style of bunny pictured. I will begin creating it as soon as you place your order. This particular bunny measures about 8 inches long by 3.5 inches tall. All my pieces are hand-made with love by me (an artist who genuinely loves and appreciates nature). My pieces are made using porcelain or stoneware clay fired at cone 6 which makes them super durable and they even can withstand outdoor weather. These bunnies also make great gifts. Think Mother’s Day, Birthdays, and Christmas! If you know of someone who is passionate about the 70’s, cottage core, and/or gardening, this is the gift for them! Thank you for stopping by my Etsy listing. I have many other items listed in my Etsy shop, all designed to inspire inner peace through synergy with nature.

Kids of all ages LOVE working with clay! This easy ceramics project is perfect for grades 3 and up, or for younger students with some assistance. Elementary-aged kids (and adults!) enjoy creating these ceramic leaves which are beautiful when painted or glazed with fall colors or shades of green. It’s amazing how realistic they look! This is a perfect clay project for spring or fall. These ceramic leaves make great gifts for any holiday and will become treasured keepsakes. Students will learn and practice several techniques that are key to working with clay as they make their ceramic leaves. They will roll out their slab, add texture, trace and cut around their leaf or pattern, properly recycle or store their extra pieces of clay, score and slip to attach their stem to the leaf’s edge for strength and smooth the edges of their leaf. Then students will raise the edges slightly to allow for warp-resistant drying. Photos of each step accompany my instructions for your use as you demonstrate or create your sample. Or, print them out to project with a document camera or hand them out for students to follow along. I also include a handy 1-page summary of steps that you can print out and follow, just like you would a recipe in your kitchen. Then, I suggest different glaze treatments along with photos of student examples. I also explain how to use air-dry clay if you don’t have a kiln, what its limitations are, and when air-dry clay should not be used. This 30 page PDF digital file Includes: The secret for making beautiful ceramic leaves that look realistic The tools and supplies you’ll need What to do if you don’t have a kiln How to make a slab with uniform thickness, step by step with text and photos How to make slip, step-by-step with text and photos How to score and slip your clay when attaching pieces so they will stay where you put them Step-by-step instructions for making leaf plates, with photos of each step How to glaze your leaf plates, with photos and instructions for different options How to use a template if you’re not able to use a real leaf How to enlarge or reduce your template 10 leaf templates, plus 1 blank template to use with your own leaf rubbing 1-page summary of "how-to" steps to print out and have handy while you’re demonstrating or for student reference - just like following a recipe! If you've got some extra clay leftover but you're running low on varnish then not to worry we've got you covered. We have developed a new ultra gloss varnish, and a low shine matte varnish which are both water and scratch resistant. They have been developed to work perfectly with air dry clay and provide a glazed ceramic look. How to use our varnish:1. Wait for your piece to dry completely for a minimum of 2 - 3 days. It’s important your creation is bone dry before painting (very light in colour and hard to the touch).2. Apply 2 generous coats of our white acrylic eggshell base layer on the inside, outside and base of your creation. Allow this to dry for a couple of hours. 3. Apply Sculpd coloured paints if you have them3. Apply 2 generous coats of our ultra glossy or matte varnish on the inside, outside and base of your creation, leaving 10 minutes between coats. Allow this to set completely overnight to ensure a water resistant finish. And that’s all there is to it!
These funky clay diffuser air vent clips are a great alternative to single-use car air fresheners as they are crafted using subtly glazed air-dry clay which can be re-used over and over. They work great as a decoration/accessory too! * Each clip comes with a 1ml bottle of your chosen fragrance/essential oil which can be refilled with any oil when empty. Simply add 3-5 drops of oil to the back of the clip, depending on how strong you’d like the scent, and when the oil has absorbed after a few seconds it is ready to attach to vent. This scent will last for up to 4 days, then it can be recharged and the heat from the vents will enhance the scent further. * Marble design can be done in 4 colour options (enter in notes) Colours - Marble combinations of: A - Pink/Purple/White B - Blue/Green/White C - Brown/Yellow/Orange/White D - Grey/White * Just choose your design, your shape and your scent. Dimensions: Circle = 3.5cm. Heart = 4cm wide. * All packaging is biodegradable (even down to the tape), unless reused packaging is being given another life. Have a look at our page for more car accessories! * Scents: Sweet Orange: Uplifting yet calming, perfect for car rides! Please note this oil is naturally orange coloured and will stain the clay slightly. Lavender and Vanilla: Relaxing and sweet Sea Spray: A blend of cedar, musk and patchouli – smells just like the great outdoors. Fresh Linen: Exactly as it sounds – FRESH! Mango and Passionfruit: This will transport you to a tropical paradise. Bubblegum: Just like the real thing – delicious. * NOTE: Wipe with a slightly damp cloth.
