Up for sale is one pack of 25 Joker Sunflower seeds. These sunflowers are pollenless branching sunflowers that will produce up to an 8" bloom with yellow edged petals that transition to a red center. Very unique sunflower in that at times it can produce a double petal near the center of the flower. We offer flat rate combined shipping on all orders, no limit on the amount or type of seed packets. CULTURE Soil temperature: 70 - 75 degrees fahrenheit Germination lighting: Dark required Germination days: 4 - 8 days Grow on temperature day: 55 - 60 degrees fahrenheit Plant spread: 24" Plant height: 48'' to 96" Plant type: Annual Maturation days: 70 days Loosen enriched garden soil down to a 6" depth. When soil is consistently 70 degrees (for zone 6-7 usually June 1st) plant seed 1/2" deep and a minimum of 24" apart. These are low maintenance and require nothing else other than weekly watering. We don't recommend you start sunflowers early in pots as they send a large tap root when germinating and in pots less than 6" deep will quickly become rootbound and not develop correctly. These are a branching variety and you can choose to pinch them or not. If you don't pinch they will grow taller, up to 8', and usually produce one very large 6"-8" flower (they might still branch on their own). If you pinch them the plant will stay smaller creating more branches and produce more blooms in the 3-4" range. If you decide to pinch wait until the plant is about 1 foot tall, and has 4-5 sets of leaves, and pinch out the top set of new leaves with your fingertips (see the video above). We recommend you only pinch your sunflowers one time. Pinching is a personal preference and we do pinch our branching sunflowers. The color of these sunflowers is very dependent on sufficient soil nutrient levels. To achieve the deepest color we suggest you use a nutrient soil test to check your NPK and make sure your PH level is at least 7.

❤️BUY 3 GET 1 FREE ❤️ sunflowers from seeds can be a fun and rewarding gardening project. Sunflowers are relatively easy to grow and can thrive in a variety of conditions. Here's a step-by-step guide to help you get started: Materials You'll Need: Sunflower seeds Garden soil or potting mix Pots or garden beds Watering can or hose Fertilizer (optional) Mulch (optional) Garden tools (shovel, rake, etc.) Steps: Choose a Location: Select a sunny spot in your garden that receives at least 6-8 hours of direct sunlight daily. Sunflowers are sun-loving plants and need ample light to grow well. Prepare the Soil: Sunflowers prefer well-draining soil. If your soil is heavy or compacted, consider adding organic matter like compost to improve drainage and nutrient content. Planting Seeds: a. Direct Sowing: Sunflowers can be sown directly into the ground once the danger of frost has passed in the spring. Dig a small hole, about 1-2 inches deep, and place a few sunflower seeds in each hole. Cover the seeds with soil and water gently. b. Indoor Starting: You can also start sunflower seeds indoors 2-4 weeks before the last expected frost. Plant the seeds in small pots and transplant them outdoors once the weather warms up. Spacing: Space the seeds or seedlings according to the type of sunflower you're growing. Larger varieties may need more space between plants, while smaller varieties can be planted closer together. Check the seed packet for specific spacing recommendations. Watering: Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Water the plants at the base to prevent fungal diseases. As the sunflowers grow, they'll develop deeper root systems and become more drought-tolerant. Fertilizing: Sunflowers are relatively low-maintenance, but you can apply a balanced fertilizer once or twice during the growing season to encourage healthy growth and flowering. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for application. Support (Optional): Taller sunflower varieties may benefit from staking or support to prevent them from falling over due to wind or their own weight. Mulching (Optional): Applying a layer of mulch around the base of the sunflowers can help retain moisture, suppress weeds, and maintain a more consistent soil temperature. Deadheading (Optional): Deadheading (removing spent flowers) can encourage the plant to produce more blooms. However, if you're growing sunflowers for their seeds, you can leave some flowers to mature and produce seeds. Harvesting Seeds: If you're growing sunflowers for their seeds, allow the flower heads to fully mature on the plant. Once the back of the flower head turns brown and the seeds are plump, you can cut the head off and hang it upside down in a dry, well-ventilated area to allow the seeds to fully dry. Then, you can remove the seeds and enjoy them as a tasty snack or save them for next year's planting. Remember that sunflowers are generally low-maintenance and can bring a burst of cheerful color to your garden. Whether you're growing them for their striking flowers or delicious seeds, they are sure to add beauty and interest to your outdoor space.
