#creationstation #stampinup #faithfulinkspirations #saleabration2021 Hey there stampers! Our mission this month is to create projects with one of the many cute critters in the Stampin' Up catalogs. There are so, so many of them...but I don't have many because my kiddos are grown. I'm very, very, very tempted to get that adorable "Shark Frenzy" stamp set on page 46 of the January to June Mini Catalog. And the "Oh Snap" set on page 47 is totes adorbs, too!! Decision, decisions.... One set that did grab my eye and that I reached out to grab for FREE is the "Darling Donkeys" set from the Sale-a-Bration catalog! As soon as I saw that set, it went right into my cart! I also got the gorgeous Flower & Field Designer Series Paper for FREE!! Here's my card--it's stinkin' cute, if I do say so myself (and I do)! To build the card, I started with a Cherry Cobbler Card Stock card base. Then I layered a 3-7/8" by 5" piece of the Field & Flower DSP onto a 4" by 5-1/4" Bumblebee Card Stock mat. I added a 1-/2" by 3-7/8" strip of the polka dot Bumblebee Field & Flower DSP on this and then wrapped a length of Bumblebee Gingham Ribbon around. I adhered this to the card base. I stamped the donkey in Memento Tuxedo Black onto Basic White Card Stock. I colored her with Light & Dark Smoky Slate Stampin' Blends and then cut it out with one of the Stitched Shapes Dies. I adhered this to a scalloped Basic Black Card Stock mat that I cut with one of the Layering Circles Dies. I wanted the donkey to have some movement--she's kicking up her heels, after all. So I made a DIY "wobble." You can buy wobbles on Amazon, but I didn't think of it in time, so I had to make my own! I used the smallest Layering Circles Die to cut two circles from Basic White Card Stock. I didn't have any thin gauge wire--so what's that saying? "Necessity is the mother of invention"--I striped the paper off a twist tie and voila! I had some thin gauge wire. I twisted it around a Foam Dauber to give it just the right curl. Then I used regular tape to tape one end of the wire coil (red arrow) to one of the circles. I added tape to the other end of the coil and "sandwiched" the circles to form my wobble. I trimmed the excess tape and then adhered the wobble to the back of the donkey and then onto the card. Here's a little video to see my donkey wobble in action! I stamped two sentiments from the "Darling Donkeys" stamp set in Versamark Ink onto Basic Black Card Stock. I sprinkled on some White Stampin' Emboss Powder and set it with my Heat Tool. Then I used my Paper Snips to fussy cut the sentiments and adhered them to the card with Black Mini Dimensionals. To finish the card, I fussy cut one of the flowers from the DSP and used a Mini Dimensional to adhere it to the donkey's head. I added three Artistry Blooms Sequins (those things are amazing cuz they go with everything!), and slipped another length of Bumblebee Gingham Ribbon under the first length of ribbon and tied a bow onto the front of the card.
