1982 Formula One Lotus Ford Cosworth DFV Type 91. The Type 91 is known as a ground effect racing car. The curved undersides of the sidepods create high aerodynamic downforce for low drag. In 1982 the regulations allowed the Type 91 to use flexible skirts as seals between the bottom edge of the sidepods and the track. The 1982 Austrian Grand Prix was a famous victory for the Type 91. It was Colin Chapman’s last win, Elio de Angelis’ first win. The 150th victory for the Ford Cosworth DFV engine Type 91 drivers were Elio de Angelis, Nigel Mansell, Roberto Moreno, Geoff Lees, Dave Scott, Satoru Nakajima and Prince Michael of Kent.
