Hereditary transthyretin-mediated (hATTR) amyloidosis is a rare, progressively debilitating, and fatal disease caused by pathogenic mutations in the transthyretin (TTR) gene that result in the accumulation of amyloid fibrils throughout the body, including in the heart, peripheral nerves, and gastrointestinal tract.
