Built in 1875 by Hansom, St Aloysius' in Oxford is undergoing a restoration to return the sanctuary to its former splendour. The work is now almost complete, and the chancel ceiling has been repainted with Eucharistic designs. Around the tabernacle is perhaps the most distinctive feature of the church, the reredos, crowded with statues of saints and angels, and reminding us of the unity of the Church on earth with the Church in heaven.
