We hope you like the new glossy cover - which shows off the gorgeous photo from Escape Nomade - one of our featured companies this month. Glamping can be anything you want it to be - a simple cabin in the woods like Tom MacCurrach’s inspirational project on page 32, or a bamboo wonderland supspended from the tree tops such as the architectural geniuses at Nomadic Resorts show us on page 30. Or it can be Airstreams, huts, rare antique caravans, you name it - we have it all this issue. What these different projects share is a passion to create something unique and magical for the guest. Glamping should not be one size fits all. It is a bespoke experience that can only be created in your setting, with your ideas and playing to your strengths. Unfortunately, putting our dreams into practise often involves something much more prosaic - cold hard cash. This issue we look at finance, writing a business plan, crowdfunding, peer-to-peer lending and other options.

Alongside it sits The Trough, a bespoke break-out cabin carefully sited to take in the stunning sunsets we have here.
An influx of glamping sites set up throughout the pandemic along with the fact that the rules surrounding international holidays have now been relaxed has led to a situation where, “There is so much competition now in the glamping industry that you really need to move beyond just being accommodation and into offering ‘experiences’,” says Di, “Giving experiences means guests come away with some kind of transformation, having learned or achieved something, which will always yield more positivity and zest in their reviews than, for example, it had a nice bed.”
