Zac Freeman is another resourceful and inventive artist who creates expressive portraits out of recycled junk and found objects. There's something so intriguing about finding the domino, altoids tins, bride & groom cutouts, and dolls in the self-portrait below, and then pulling back to focus on the intense gaze. These striking images create a kind of optical illusion reminiscent of Chuck Close, where it's almost impossible to focus on the face and the objects at the same time.
