This file includes 8 reading response question cards (4in x5in) and individual question cards for each story element! Story elements covered include: author, illustrator, setting, plot, theme, style, mood, and character. These higher level questions will get your students thinking and responding to what they have read or listened to during read alouds! The individual question cards can be used to help focus students during silent reading! Print, cut, laminate and keep these cards in a basket or on a ring next to your whole group area for quick reference. Keep the individual cards in a bucket for students to randomly choose from after read alouds or use as a focus question for silent reading. The possibilities are endless!
