“Seaside Sunrise” is a simple striped shirt. Its stripe sequence has been constructed to look random, but at the same time to use up 6 colors equally (with approx. 200m each), so that it can be worked with minimal leftovers when buying 6 skeins. The shirt ist worked bottom-up. It features Garter side panels which form a curve at the underarms and are put on hold to be re-used later for the sleeve edges, while the rest of the back and front stitches (including sets of wedge increases) are continued to the slanted shoulders, to be joined using a 3-needle-bindoff. Garter edgings are worked at the neck and sleeves to finish the piece neatly. Yarn usage: Approx. 1000/ 1100/ 1200/ 1300/ 1400 m, equally distributed between 6 colors. Color tables are provided in case you would like to use exactly the same stripe sequence as in the samples. But of course you can create your own color scheme! This is the perfect project for using up beautiful leftovers. Gauge Gauge for the Pinta sample: 28 sts x 36 rows in Stockinette. For looser knitters than I am, stitch counts are also provided for alternative stitch gauges of 26 sts and 24 sts.
