The Medicine Coyote is medicine indeed! Considered the trickster, the clown and the sacred fool - a most revered totem to the Hopi people, who wear coyote and fox tails as part of their regalia in ceremonies held in their prayer kivas – a reminder of their primal connection to mother earth. Coyote, is totem symbol of the South, in many native traditions, offering us the wisdom of not taking ourselves too seriously. Coyote medicine can also ask - who might you be laughing at – yourself, or others? Mocking others or holding others in contempt often leads to a lonely existence. Finding the ability to laugh at yourself allows others to relate and share in their own weaknesses. When we are out of balance, Coyote Medicine is playing both the teacher and the student, only confusing things further, offering us no new insight. At which point we become stuck, learning the same lesson over and over until we eventually get the 2 x 4 over the head and wake up! Coyote offers us opportunities to give anything a try and be willing to play the fool sometimes. Why not take a risk, play a game of chance and be in awe of the result. Alternatively be ready to lick your wounds laughing all the way! Coyote Medicine - the power of humor has invited you to lighten up and allow more laughter to be part of your own medicine. Journey with Coyote into the wilder woods to yip and howl. True laughter resonates more authentically when you play sincerely with your pack! Bundle description The bundle is made from soft natural gold deer skin – deer offers us the medicine of gentleness – a reminder to be kind to ourselves. The top of the bundle is decorated with a small piece of coyote fur hide. A deer skin lace and traditional ceramic pony bead offer a way to close the bundle. Inside the pouch reveals a red flannel lining holding the four sacred medicines, representing each of the cardinal directions: nicotiana rustica thanks the creator for our blessings, white desert sage brings cleansing and purification of mind, body and spirit, aromatic cedar offers healing and protection and sweet grass - the keeper of joy and abundant blessings. A coyote claw and a tiny quartz crystal point have been added to maintain the medicine and energy - keeping your bundle 'alive'. Many prayers have gone into this offering - crafting in the tradition of my elders - giving thanks to the four leggeds, plant and rock people that assist me in these healing ways. Tlatilco was a small village located on the outskirts of modern Mexico City. During the 1930s and 1940s, numerous collectors-the artist and author Miguel Covarrubias and his friend the famous muralist Diego Rivera among them-spoke of traveling there on weekends "with a pocketful of cash and returning with an archaeological puzzle or an artistic masterpiece."

Jesus and Roxana Hernandez capture the classic silhouette of a coyote with its head bent back as it lets out a plaintive howl in this wonderful hand-decorated i alebrije /i sculpture. Carved by hand from copal wood, the colorful figurines body, including its tail, is covered with geometric motifs. Small parts are separated for shipping to protect from breakage. br br The artisan pair hails from a Zapotec community in Oaxaca where most of the inhabitants are wood carvers. Jesus is thankful they are, "...able to offer work to our artisan neighbors. This is important in preserving our culture and tradition as well as generating a source of income." br br The i alebrije /i tradition started with Mexico City papier mache artisan Pedro Linares (1906-1992). When he was 30, he fell into a coma due to serious illness. While he was unconscious, he dreamed he was caught between the land of the living and the dead; the place looked like a forest and was populated with creatures with body parts belonging to different animals. The beings repeatedly uttered the word i alebrije /i . Upon recovering, Linares recreated these figures in bright colors using papier mache techniques and called them i alebrijes /i . His work became famous and was one of the main influences of artisans in the state of Oaxaca who began crafting i alebrijes /i of their own using traditional wood carving methods.

When studying Anne Lemanski's sculptures, the artist's choice in medium becomes just as intriguing as the subject depicted. Working from her extensive personal collection, the artist uses a variety of materials - from vinyl and book pages to textiles and vintage photos - to create life-size sculptures of animals and objects. While some pieces are more open to interpretation, others not-so-subtly address the social, political and environmental issues we face in modern times.

Sometimes the past we leave behind leads us right where we belong. Talulah Barclay doesn't like complications. Unfortunately, they seem to love her. Fourteen years after leaving her fiancé at the altar, Talulah returns to her hometown of Coyote Canyon, Montana, to settle her great-aunt's estate. As she'd feared, her \"runaway bride\" reputation is waiting right where she left it, and her ex's best friend, Brant, isn't about to let her slip by unnoticed. Brant has always been a loyal friend, but Talulah's decision to run isn't the only thing he hasn't forgotten. He remembers more about Talulah than he cares to admit. Vividly. And it's increasingly difficult to ignore her now, especially when they find themselves in close quarters. Talulah has no plans to stay in town after she fixes up her aunt's Victorian farmhouse, even if the unbridled sparks with Brant give her a good reason to linger. Besides, bailing on relationships is kind of her thing. But a lot has changed since Talulah last turned tail--maybe her heart has changed, too?
