This coming weekend is shaping up to very arty. Seems like there are a zillion events featuring handmade goods happening all over the place. I would like to call your attention to two of them here in Northeast Ohio which will feature my tiles. They both happen to be run by wonderful non-profits. The first is "Gifts from the Heart of Nature," the annual holiday show and fundraiser at the Holden Arboretum in Kirtland, OH. The show will kick off with special events both Friday and Saturday (11/16 and 11/17) that include refreshments and a cash bar. Saturday will also feature festive music. If you can't make it this weekend, not to worry, the show runs until Dec 29th and the arboretum is open almost everyday. Because this is the 8th year I have participated in this event, I decided to submit mostly tiles with new and different glazes, as well as some new designs, including plenty of dandelion tiles like the one shown above. Here is a sample of what I delivered to them last week... And, just for fun, here is a picture I took while I was at the arboretum... Way over on the other side of Cleveland, the community art center of Bay Village, "BAYarts," will hold their gallery shop holiday open house this Saturday and Sunday from 10-5. Stop in and enjoy hot tea, cocoa and baked goods while you enjoy the work of over 100 local artists. The show runs through Christmas, but stop in early for the best selection!
