Noodler's flex pen and watercolor... Our old cabin is surrounded by walnut trees; for years I'd watched the woodpeckers build their homes above my head, knowing that they'd hollowed out the tree beside the deck. This winter, our howling winds took out the top of this one, and I dragged it up onto the deck to sketch. This particular nest had two entries...the one near the bottom of the photo probably led to another hollow like the one between these two... Our friends were out cutting wood--another tree that had fallen near the cabin--and Joseph was fixing the broken window, so I sat on the deck and sketched.

Nous devions passer une semaine en famille au Monténégro il y a quelques semaines, mais pour les raisons que vous connaissez tous, ce voyage a été annulé. Faute d'y aller pour de vrai, j'ai fait un rapide dessin de Kotor d'après photo et ai complété les pages avec un dessin de la nourriture locale, qu'on goûtera peut-être un jour, plus tard... We were supposed to be spending a week in Montenegro some time ago, but the trip was cancelled due to the evil virus. I therefore did a virtual sketch from a photo of Kotor Bay and drew some local food, that maybe one day, we will taste for real....
Jowita is an architect from Germany, she paints primarily with watercolors on her free time. Among all things I personally think she has a great skill for composing the scene, the sketchbook page and the picture itself. All in one it makes for some gorgeous images to look at.
