This Kitchen Apron in a luscious dark slate-blue linen. It's elegant, but thoroughly tested and approved for durability. Comfortable straps fit to your body and eliminate any strain on your neck. 100% linen, finished with sturdy nickel-plated grommets and slate gray cotton twill straps. Linen is lighter in weight, but stronger and more durable than most cotton or blends. And linen breathes, so you can wear this apron all day long and still be cool (of course!). We pay attention to the details too: our sturdy nickel-plated grommets and custom-dyed twill tape ties are American-made, of the best quality we can find. We cut and sew in small batches here in San Francisco, check each apron one-by-one, and tie them with a twill ribbon and a wash + care tag. - 100% linen, with slate-grey cotton twill ties - 35" long x 30" wide, 10" wide at bib, with 60" ties - One size fits most - Tie in front or back, to fit snugly or loosely - Washes easily, air dries quickly, no ironing necessary - Linen resists dirt, and stains are easy to remove - Designed, cut and sewn in San Francisco
The area of Germany I am originally from, has the best pretzel rolls and pretzels ever. I'm not kidding. OK - Bavarians make good pretzels too...

One of the responses to working and being inspired by the garden is to make aprons for gathering actions - as seen in some of the preserving party pics and along the way. Here's some of my favourite examples of vintage aprons from the Kamakura-Shobo Publishing Co. Pattern Drafting books Vol. 1, 2, and 3, published in 1967, 1970 and 1972. My nanna brought Vol. 2 back from Japan around that time, and I always poured over it when I was young :o)

What are the most useful (and beautiful) supplies a gardener needs for harvesting vegetables, fruit, and herbs from the fall garden? Here's some favourites.
